In blue...

1. 12 dc into second chain from hook 
(12) sl st to join ch 1
2. dc inc x 12 (24) sl st to join
3. (dc inc, dc) x12 (36) sl st to join ch 1
4. (dc inc, 2 dc) x12 (48) sl st to join ch 1
In white ch1 to join...
5. dc 3 inc (3in1), hdc, 8 sc (hdc, dc inc, ch 1, dc inc, hdc, 8sc)x3. hdc, dc (56). sl st to join ch 1
6. dc, ((2dc, ch, 2dc) in next stitch, 13 dc, )x3, (2dc, ch, 2dc) in next stitch, 12 dc (64) sl st to join.

Finish off. Weave in ends.


Yellow Outer S Applique

Working in rows back and forth. 

In yellow...
Ch10
Start in 3rd chain from hook
1. 8 dc (8) ch 2 turn
2. dc inc, 6sc, dc inc (10) ch 2 turn
3. Skip first stitch, 8sc, sl st (8) ch 2 turn
4. Skip first stitch, 6dc, sl st (6) ch 2 turn
5. Skip first stitch, 4dc, sl st (4) ch 2 turn
6. Skip first stitch, 2dc, sl st (2) ch 2 turn
7. dc
Finish off.

In red, sc around the edge. Put 3 sc in each of the 5 corners. 

Leave long thread for sewing.


Red S

Slip stitch through the yellow applique using red to form the S.

Add an extra edge of yellow using slip stitches the through the work between the the yellow inner and red border.


Pull the appliques to fit the shape as needed while sewing.
